Who is the course for?
Dental Practice managers who currently oversee the running of a dental practice. This course enables recognition by the Chartered Management Institute and has a Chartered Manager Status, owing to many transferable skills in management.

What are the entry requirements?
To enrol onto this course, English and Maths requirements differ depending on the learner’s age:
For learners aged 16–18: It is mandatory to either already hold, or be able to work towards and achieve, the required English and Maths qualifications as part of the apprenticeship. These must be completed prior to gateway.
For learners aged 19 and over: It is recommended that applicants hold GCSE English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above (or an equivalent qualification). If evidence of prior achievement is not available at enrolment, learners may choose to complete these subjects separately through Skills4, with full funding and support provided.
While English and Maths are optional for adult learners to enrol onto this apprenticeship, completing them is strongly advised — particularly for those intending to progress to a higher-level qualification in the future.
You must be working a minimum of 30 paid hours a week; this course is completed during working hours.
All learners are required to successfully complete the End Point Assessment (EPA) at the end of their apprenticeship, which includes:
- Project with a report
- Professional discussion underpinned by a portfolio of evidence
How will learners be taught?
- Live online sessions are delivered every two weeks on Microsoft Teams by experienced subject specialist tutors.
- On-demand, one-to-one support as and when required.
- Quarterly formal progress reviews.
- Access to our online training platform.
- Support from a dedicated educational supervisor in the workplace.
Future Prospects
Upon completion, Dental Practice Managers have the opportunity for future progression, which can include:
- Recognition- Foundation Chartered Manager (fCMgr), or Chartered Manager (CMgr)
- Senior roles- Operations Manager, Divisional Manager, Regional Manager or Department Manager
- Higher Education- This qualification is equivalent to a foundation degree or HND, offering a strong academic foundation for future development.
